Our lab studies DNA repair in the context of chromatin. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanistism that encompasses the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway. We have ongoing projects related to: - Understanding the fundamental functions of histone variants and defining functional residues - Identifying and characterizing the functions of chromatin modifications in the DDR - Chasing novel DDR proteins using proteomic approaches - Deciphering the molecular mechanism of the DDR regulation - Elucidating the ubiquitin-signaling pathway regulation on damaged chromatin
